Water Rates

These rates apply to general domestic, commercial and industrial customers.

Rates for Customers with Metered Water Supply

• First 3,000 gallons/month: $14.45 per 1,000 gallons
• Next 7,000 gallons/month: $11.79 per 1,000 gallons
• Over 10,000 gallons/month: $ 8.33 per 1,000 gallons

No minimum charge will be rendered for less than the following:

• 5/8″ meter: $43.35/month
• 3/4″ meter: $65.03/month
• 1″ meter: $108.38/month
• 1-1/2″ meter: $216.75/month
• 2″ meter: $346.80/month
• 3″ meter: $693.60/month
• 4″ meter: $1083.75/month
• 6″ meter: $2167.50/month

Rates for Huttonsville Correctional Facility

• $6.05 per 1,000 gallons

Billing & Payment Policies

Tap Fee

These charges apply whenever the utility installs a new tap to serve the applicant.

A tap fee of $100 will be charged to all customers applying for service before construction is completed adjacent to the customer’s premises in connection with a certificate. The preconstruction fee will be invalid after the completion of construction adjacent to the applicant’s premises that is associated with a certificate.

A tap fee of $350 will be charged to all customers who apply for service outside of a certificate for each new tap to the system.

Reconnection Charge

A charge of $25 will be assessed whenever water supply is turned off for violation of rules, nonpayment of bills, or fraudulent use of water.

Leak Adjustment Rate

A charge of $.075 per 1,000 gallons will be used when a bill reflects unusual consumption which can be attributed to eligible leakage on the customer’s side of the meter. This rate shall be applied to all consumption above the customer’s historical average. See our Leak Adjustment Policy for more information.

Security Deposit

A deposit of $50.00 or 2/12ths of the average annual usage of the applicant’s customer class, whichever it greater.

Delayed Payment Penalty

The above rate schedule is net. A 10% penalty fee will be added to the net current amount on all accounts not paid in full when due. This delayed payment penalty is not interest and is to be collected only once for each bill where it is appropriate.

Returned Check Charge

A service charge equal to the bank fee assessed to the sewer utility, or a maximum of $25.00, will be imposed upon a customer whose check for payment is returned by the bank due to insufficient funds.
