APPLYING FOR WATER/SEWER TAPS

Before you build a new home or locate a mobile home onto a vacant lot, please check with us to see if the area is serviceable with water/sewer.  This will allow us to determine whether or not our service is available to the property you are considering.

You can visit the Huttonsville PSD office to apply for a water/sewer tap and one of our operators will visit the site to determine service availability.  There is no charge for the application.  After our operator has determined whether or not service is available there is a non-refundable $350.00 water/sewer tap fee (per service requested) required before the tap can be completed.

In areas where it is questionable about pressure a "Low Water Pressure Waiver" may be required, our operators will be able to determine this upon the site inspection.  After the water/sewer tap is completed you are required to complete an "Application For Service" (available at the HPSD Administrative Office) and pay a $50.00 deposit for water and a $50.00 deposit for sewer ( $100.00 deposit only applicable if both utilities are requested).

Billing will begin thirty (30) days after taps are completed.  New taps are billed for (2) years whether connection to the utility is made or not.

The water/sewer deposit is refunded on your utility bill FOR PROPERTY OWNERS ONLY RENTAL DEPOSITS WILL BE CREDITED WHEN FINAL BILL IS RENDERED (with interest) after 12 months of continued current payment status.  The Tap Fee is non-refundable.
